Rome, the "eternal" city with its history and artistic wonders, is also home to one of the most popular stores in the Dorsal bed base (with legs): Stefano Autuori's Romamaterassi. In our journey among the best retailers in Italy, we chose to stop here, where for over thirty years the culture of good rest has been combined with quality, experience and customer care.
Romamaterassi has three active points of sale in the capital, two of which have showrooms dedicated to Dorsal. In particular, the 130-square-meter Dorsal Experience Point showroom in the store at 530 Via Gregorio VII, represents a real feather in its cap, opened in May last year.
Dorsal Experience Point: a corner of naturalness in the heart of Rome
Upon entering the Dorsal Experience Point, one is greeted by a carefully designed environment where natural colors and Dorsal green dominate. The walls tell the story of the product through explanatory graphics and a layout that invites wellness.
"It is a very popular space," says Stefano Autuori, owner of the store, "they like it because they immediately perceive the Dorsal philosophy linked to naturalness and environmental sustainability, which is fundamental for us. Customers recognize that these are products designed to offer well-being and high quality of rest."
The exhibition presents the entire Dorsal range: mattresses, beds, bed bases (with legs), and pillows with a focus on products such as Zefiro, I Contemporanei, and Matrix, which always receive great interest.
A story of family and quality
The Romamaterassi store is a historic outlet, established more than 30 years ago. Stefano picked up his father's legacy and continued the business with passion: "I grew up in this store," he says, "and I have been collaborating with Dorsal since the 1990s, starting with the bed bases (with legs). From the beginning we got along well because they are innovative products that guarantee results and customer satisfaction."
Today Stephen leads an experienced team: three staff members in the main store and two more in the second store. All have taken Dorsal training courses, ensuring in-depth and knowledgeable consulting services.
Mattresses for every need and attention to well-being
The strength of the Dorsal brand, according to Autuori, lies in the wide range and quality of materials: "Zefiro is exceptional in breathability, but the whole range has unique features that can meet any need. They really like the foam materials because they are highly natural and offer the right support."
Romamaterassi's strengths include pre-purchase counseling with customized testing, delivery and assembly done in-house, and a focus on collaboration with professionals. Of particular note is the link with A.I.FI. - Italian Association of Physiotherapy, with which the Fisio Dorsal in-store days are organized: real moments of free consulting for customers, by experts in the field.
The customer at the center and an eye to the future
"More and more people are paying attention to sustainability and natural materials," Autuori explains, "and in this sense Dorsal is a warranty. We often receive very positive feedback especially on mattresses that can be customized in support firmness, ideal for couples with different needs and weights."
The store also works hard through word of mouth, a sign of a loyal and satisfied clientele over time.
