One family, three generations, one passion.
Founded by Franco Moretti in 1932, Dorsal was born in the heart of the Veneto region and is still led by the same family, which has been cultivating the same values for nearly a century: Italian excellence, continuous innovation and respect for nature.

In Corbanese, among the hills of Veneto, we carefully design and manufacture the entire line of rest systems: mattresses, ergonomic mattresses, bed bases (with legs), beds, pillows and complements, combining inspiration from traditional craftsmanship and the best technologies to ensure natural rest.

The Moretti Family's passion for the culture of sleeping was born in 1932 with founder Franco Moretti who started a business that soon specialized in the rest sector with the production of metal bed bases (with legs) and mattresses. 

1932

Franco Moretti is the holder of a novel patent for king size folding bed base (with legs).

1953

We create an innovative slat support with independent flexibility. The product is called Dorsal, a rest concept that achieves immediate success.

1977

Dorsal obtains CE marking on all anatomical bed bases (with legs) for safe and tested products.

2001

We present the first original mattress made from natural and renewable resources.
It takes a flower to make a mattress!

2005

We create a unique product with Tubes® patented technology. Zefiro: the mattress that breathes!

2007

We create our line of SIMPLICITY Beds, which are modular, customizable and designed for well-being!

2014

We achieve the important certifications FSC® and PEFC, adhering to the two main international standards for environmentally sustainable wood management and create our own range of anatomical bed bases (with legs) made of certified sustainable wood. In the same year we also celebrate the first 10 years of cooperation with the Italian Association of Physiotherapists.

2015
Forest showcases FSC-certified wooden bed slats, alongside a cozy living area featuring a woman reading on a stylish couch.

The HUMAN system, the human-centered anatomical bed bases (with legs), certified by the IGR German Ergonomic Research Institute for innovative and ergonomic products, is presented.

2016

Super L'Originale italiana turns 40 and gets a makeover with great new features.

2017

In 2019 we win the FSC® Furniture Award with the anatomical bed base (with legs) in beech SANA. In 2020 we are awarded the IGR Innovation Prize for Ergonomics 2020 for Human anatomical bed bases (with legs) and for the second year, we win the FSC Furniture Award with Simplicity Beds.

We celebrate the 90th anniversary, with a restyling of communication and brand!

2022

We present a full range of “smart” power-adjustable beds with BLISS Technology. And we design new 100% sustainable packaging for the Dorsal pillow line. In 2025 we are proud to celebrate two decades of collaboration with A.I.FI. in support of health and well-being.
