FSC® Certification: a concrete commitment that renews every year
Maria Rita Gallozzi, President of FSC® Italy, describes the value of a certification that for Dorsal is a virtuous path: "being an FSC®-certified company since 2015 is not an administrative routine but is coherence, responsibility, and vision." A firm commitment that renews every year through the offering of products made with wood from a transparent, verified, and responsible supply chain.
We are nature
Vancouver Declaration: Dorsal is among the 57 companies in the world, including IKEA, H&M and Fuji Xerox, that have signed the Vancouver Declaration promoted by FSC®.
A joint document to safeguard the world's forests, through which companies commit to a more sustainable supply chain and to use FSC® certified forest products.
Certification of Chain of Custody
Today Dorsal is “certified ring" of the CoC, or Chain of Custody of the wood used, a warranty of traceability and transparency along the entire process: from the forest to the end user.
People are increasingly paying attention to where what they buy comes from, how it is produced and the impact these actions generate on the environment.
It is a collective awareness that guides choices, establishes priorities and also involves companies in adapting products and processes. For Dorsal, respect for the environment also means transparency to consumers.
Ecosustainable wood bed bases
Our carpentry workshop was directly involved in the decision that led us to obtain FSC® and PEFC certification in 2015.
A conscious decision, strongly desired to achieve a balance between our production process and the ecosystems of the forests from which all the wood that we use today comes. Because to say wood is to say nature, and we are all part of it.
Dorsal is authorized to certify the range of slat and bed bases (with legs) coming out of its production process, as a consequence of the conscious choice to always and continuously use the same materials, never replacing them or combining them with raw materials of uncontrolled origin.
Nature-friendly mattresses
Grand Soleil is the first and the original foamed mattress made with raw materials from renewable resources, such as sunflower oil and water.
Natural Pillow Packaging
We redesigned the entire pillow packaging to achieve a 100% natural, sustainable and plastic-free product. The new Dorsal pillow pouches use a next-generation bio-based wood fiber material from sustainably managed FSC® forests, pursuing Dorsal's existing commitment to protecting the environment.
All fibers of the revolutionary material used for the new Dorsal packaging are biodegradable to fit the circular economy.
