In the blood of Roberto and Raffaella, the current owners of Casa del Mattress of Bergamo, runs the passion for making others sleep well. In fact, it is experience that guides the couple, a know-how acquired over time since Roberto's father opened Casa del Mattress in Bergamo, continuing the experience gained as a mattress artisan and leaving it as a professional legacy to his children.
Today this showroom is a true reference point in the bedding industry for all of Bergamo and its province. Speaking to us today about how their business came to be is Roberto himself, the owner.
Can you tell us the history of your store?
Ours is a historic store in Bergamo, the only one active continuously since 1957 in the mattress, bed base (with legs) and pillow trade. This business is the legacy of my father who, before 1957, was a craftsman upholsterer for home furnishings. From him I learned what it means to listen to customers' requests, enter their homes and find solutions to their problems.
What relationship do you have with Dorsal?
With Dorsal, the collaboration began with the Moretti family and has been going on, with satisfaction, for more than 35 years, because of the stability and quality of the products received and the comfort feel of any requests we may have.
What do you like about Dorsal as a company?
Dorsal is a company that has evolved and our relationship is always very good: we have always had a calm, frank and mutually trusting cooperation. We also believe very much in the quality of Dorsal products, which we have been selling for many years now. In addition, my wife who works with me in the store has participated in several training courses in the company, which are always a new stimulus and help us learn about the new products introduced by Dorsal.
Tell us about your store. What sets you apart?
Our modernized headquarters is still the historic one, located in Bergamo at Via S. Bernardino No. 76, about 1 km from the highway exit. It maintains the historic 200sqm of exposure, necessary for customer comfort feel and for the management and solution of their problems, in a quiet environment. What sets us apart from the competition is experience; we come from a tradition of upholsterers who entered people's homes, knew their needs, accommodated their requests. We have put this inherited experience to good use, and our clientele appreciates this sensitivity that we offer them: in fact, we can give specialized advice on sleeping that not everyone can offer.
What are the Dorsal products on display?
The store entrance and a room with a display case is dedicated to Dorsal products: bed bases, memory mattresses, pocket-spring mattresses and pillows. In particular, we appreciate Zefiro mattresses, Antares, the new Elisir issimo and Greener, as well as Suite. For bed bases (with legs), we have always recommended Super and Sana for their solidity and resistance. They are supports
reliable, a warranty for our customers who now know them and
appreciate them.
With respect to the environmental certifications obtained by Dorsal, what do you think? Do customers appreciate this attention to the environment?
Our clientele wholeheartedly endorses Dorsal's decision to use environmentally certified (FSC) supports; as well as its focus on motorised slatted bases (with legs), made to comply with EC directives to further improve sleep quality.
Do you remember any particular person who, thanks to a Dorsal bed System, has improved the quality of their sleep?
We gladly receive visits from our customers, post-purchase, who bring testimony to the goodness of rest received from Dorsal products that are, then, recommended to acquaintances; but already from in-store tests, we detect surprise at the pleasant feeling experienced during testing of Dorsal bed systems.

Bernardino, nr.76 - 24122 in Bergamo and follows the following hours: open daily from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00 except Monday mornings and holidays for closure.
