You can feel the experience and great passion for their work in the store Broglio Furniture in Venaria Reale (Turin) dorsal has chosen to tell you about this month. We are in Piedmont, just a stone's throw from the splendid Savoy royal palace, which is considered a UNESCO heritage site. Explaining the story of yesterday and today is the owner Walter Broglio who, together with his wife Maria, personally run the store-a flagship among all the outlets Dorsal. The store is located at 48 Paolo Emilio Buridani Avenue and boasts a long history that began 93 years ago.
Can you tell us the story of Broglio Furniture?
We are in our third generation of furniture makers. It all started in the 1924 when my grandfather Joseph, at a very young age, began working in a carpentry shop. Working hard, he managed to start a furniture factory that my father Domenico then ran until 1965. During these years, we decided not to produce furniture anymore but to become a real furniture store and moved from Leinì to Venaria. This is how the Arredamenti Broglio store was born, run with great experience and dedication by my father Domenico and my mother Laura. Over time the business has grown and evolved. Today, after a handover period between my father and me, my wife Maria and I are at the helm of the store. Instead, my mother Laura, will be retiring this year after a long career, and we thank her for her support and work all these years-she has been for all of us the backbone and real soul of our store. In 1990 we moved to Viale Buridani, the commercial lung of Venaria Reale, with a completely renovated store, with attention to every most minute detail. And since 2013 our choice is to focus most on the sale of products related to rest, well-being and relaxation.
What is your relationship with Dorsal?
We fully embrace the philosophy of Dorsal that we elected as our reference company: naturalness of the product, customer care and satisfaction must always come first.

What do you like about Dorsal?
Many things: first of all, the quality and naturalness of the products. We appreciate that its products are natural and environmentally friendly. In addition to these qualities, we like the attention that Dorsal shows to us, the excellent working relationship established with us as retailers. We know other companies, but we can safely say that, like Dorsal, there are none. It is a company made up of people, people who are always available to respond to every request. It is a pleasure to work with Dorsal. We also found very useful all the training courses on sales and product knowledge that we attended directly in the company, all of us: me, my wife and, before us, my parents.
You mentioned the green philosophy embraced by Dorsal. How do you feel about Dorsal recently obtaining FSC and PEFC forestry certifications for anatomical wooden bed bases (with legs)?
We have always enthusiastically embraced the environmentally sustainable choices made by Dorsal and share them with customers at the point of sale. Over the years, we have come to realize that there are many people who are willing to pay a little more in order to be assured of a superior quality product that is ethical, natural and environmentally friendly. And in this Dorsal certainly stands out from other brands. We also appreciate that the foams used in the mattresses are all natural.
What Dorsal products do you have in the store?
We have a little bit of all of them. As far as mattresses are concerned, we have the line: Zefiro, Elixir, Suite, Grand Soleil, Matrix Memory. For anatomical bed bases, we have the whole line of slatted bed bases (with legs), including the latest one Human, of which we have already sold many pieces. In fact, before Christmas, we also sold the Human bed base (with legs) displayed in our showroom because a customer wanted it in stock.
What do you think of this novelty product?
As soon as the new Human bed base (with legs) came out, we immediately wanted to have it in our store. It is an exceptional product because of its ergonomic qualities. In particular, the version Human Family is very valuable for the fact that it can offer differential support firmness according to the morphology and weight of the couples. In fact, often when the weights are different in a couple, two different bed bases (with legs) are proposed, but it is not always easy to be able to put them together while preserving a queen size / king size bed base aesthetic.... They can change heights, for example... With Human Family this problem is solved completely, guaranteeing people a choice that respects ergonomics and thus ensures them perfect spinal alignment.
What is the customers' first feeling when they lie down on a Dorsal bed System?
Even on the first try, when we have them lie on a Dorsal bed System, they immediately sense a difference from other brands, they feel that comfort is better. In addition, we strongly believe in the concept of Bed System proposed by Dorsal, in fact, we are convinced that to improve the quality of a person's sleep, a good mattress is needed, but not only that, also an excellent anatomical bed base (with legs) and a pillow that fits the customer's needs.
Do your customers therefore remain satisfied that they chose Dorsal?
Yes, and many come back to thank us for the good advice on purchasing.
Do you have any special anecdotes about how a Dorsal bed System you proposed has improved the quality of sleep for one of your customers?
Of anecdotes over the years there are many, we are in fact a reference point in the area and almost always our clientele come back to give us feedback, to thank us for our advice. Recently we helped one of our customers from 92 years old to purchase a bed System that fits to solve some of the problems related to the 'age, to arthritis and acid reflux problems. On our advice, the client purchased a x-point 400 motorised slatted base (with legs) and a Zefiro mattress. It was the right choice, because not only has the elderly man now confirmed to us that he is sleeping better but also his quality of life during the day has improved considerably. For us, it is always a source of pride to receive compliments from clientele, but I must say that receiving them from a 92-year-old person is even more beautiful-it is really a boast.
