From a small business to a large showroom, on a path of growth while remaining faithful to the values of family management: born in 1949 as a store dedicated to the sale of offcuts, fabrics and linens, today Pedersoli Casa can boast as many as two stores in Lombardy (one in Boario Terme and the other in Villa di Tirano). A lot of road has been made, but the passion that animates this family is always the same, that of the origins when, Mrs. Maria Biasini together with her sister, at only 19 years old started this adventure. The store that Dorsal has chosen to tell you about this month is that of the Pedersoli family: six brothers who, each with different tasks and specializations, have given continuity to this entrepreneurial story that has developed through the generations. The staff is then completed with 8
employees. Today, introducing us to the company is one of the owners, Luca.
Can you tell us the history of your stores?
Pedersoli Casa was founded as Casa dello scampolo in 1949 by my mother and aunt. The store was a small store under the house, dedicated to the retail trade of haberdashery and offcuts, fabrics for clothing and home furnishings and linens. In the 1960s the business expanded and in 1983 changed locations. Our family also began to produce high quality goose quilts (a craft activity that still distinguishes us and has made our fortune) and in 1997 built the current headquarters that has 2,000 square meters of display space, divided into two floors, one of which is completely dedicated to the world of bedding. This year, in September, we will celebrate 20 years of this great new location of ours. We then have another store in the Tirano area, in the province of Sondrio, also specializing in rest with a corner dedicated to Dorsal products.
What relationship do you have with Dorsal?
We have been working with Dorsal for about 30 years, it was one of the first companies we collaborated with regarding bed bases (with legs), then for several years we have also been dealing with Dorsal mattresses.
What do you like about Dorsal as a company?
Of Dorsal, we like first and foremost the high quality of its products: that is why we have never wanted to change. A quality that goes well with the choice of medium-high products such as those we have chosen to deal with in the store. And then, over all these years we have created a nice relationship of knowledge and collaboration with Dorsal. We have visited the company most times and participated in the training courses that are organized at the headquarters.
What Dorsal products do you keep in the store?
We have a little bit of all of them. There are more than a dozen Dorsal bed bases (with legs) with Elisir, Suite, Antares... In addition we display all Dorsal bed bases.
Compared with the latest innovations introduced by Dorsal, what do you think?
We are selling very well Elisir issimo limited edition, which we also find a very good product from a cost point of view. We also really like the brand new Spa Suite and Greener, which we have already put on display. We find that their image as somewhat colorful mattresses, different from the usual ones, sets them apart and makes them innovative. And then we have always sold Antares from the Grand Soleil line very well: a great product, great quality, which represents us very well. On the other hand, as far as bed bases are concerned, we find Human to be an innovative support because it allows you to make a bed with different firmness depending on the person. We are offering it and our customers like it very much.
Do you remember any particular person who, thanks to a Dorsal bed System, has improved the quality of their sleep?
Sometimes customers come back to thank us for our advice and tell us that they are very comfortable with the new Dorsal mattress or bed base (with legs). In particular, I remember the case of a truck driver who had been suffering from back pain for several years and could not rest well. We recommended that he purchase a complete Dorsal bed System (also with legs) and his quality of sleep, as well as his
own life, is markedly improved.
What do you think of Dorsal's "environmental" choices?
Not all customers who come through our store are sensitive to these issues, but we notice that more and more people are paying attention to issues such as eco-sustainability and naturalness of products. So we believe that in this Dorsal stands out from the rest. Environmental certifications such as the FSC certification on the wooden bed bases (with legs) are topics that definitely help us in sales and will more and more direct people to buy a Dorsal product. Day after day we notice that attention to these topics is growing: those who spend are looking for quality products that are environmentally and human health friendly, just as Dorsal products are.

Then there is the Tirano office at 138 Via Nazionale in Villa di Tirano (SO) with opening hours: MONDAY from 3 to 7 p.m. and TUESDAY to SATURDAY from 9 a.m. to noon and 3 to 7 p.m
