In the heart of Vigevano (PV), there is a store that has been accompanying families in choosing the best rest for more than half a century. Its name is Simeoni Materassi, and it has been selected by Dorsal as retailer of the month for September. An award that goes beyond the storefront: it rewards a long history of passion, customer care and trust in quality products.
We talk about this with Luca Del Moro, who since 2017 has fully joined Franca Fantinel in running the store, carrying on a family tradition started by his grandmother back in 1968.
An entrepreneurial grandmother in the 1960s
"It was my grandmother who opened the store. - says Luca - And already that, at the time, was something extraordinary: a woman entrepreneur in those years was certainly not the norm."
In the beginning, the business was mainly dedicated to household linens and the remaking of wool mattresses, a service in high demand in Italian homes in those years. In 1984, the second generation came into the picture: Luca's father and mother, Rolando and Franca, took the reins of the store and expanded its offerings, giving more space to innovative mattresses and bed Systems. And finally, in 2017, here is the passing of the baton to Luca, who brings new energy but remains faithful to the founding values: listening to the customer, respect for traditions and openness to innovation.
A relationship with Dorsal almost 30 years long
"We have had an established relationship with Dorsal for almost 30 years," explains Luca, "A relationship that has also been strengthened over the years thanks to the many in-company training courses in which we participate.
And it is precisely this desire to grow and always offer the best that led Simeoni Materassi to create the Dorsal Experience Point (DEP) as early as December 2022, among the first Dorsal retailers. The area has five dedicated Dorsal stations, curated down to the smallest detail according to the brand's visual and sensory identity.
"Our clients really liked the space," Luca explains, "The atmosphere is relaxing, consistent with the message of well-being and quality sleep that we want to convey. The colors, the materials, the design: everything contributes to creating an immersive experience."
Favorite products and satisfied customers
Over time, there are some Dorsal products that have stood out in appreciation and results.
"My favorites? Definitely Grand Soleil Greener and the elixir line, in particular Elixir 5000 e Magic elixir. Grand Soleil is the mattress I use myself-I chose it for myself, I know it well, I offer it often to clients, and I always get great feedback. It has a cozy feel that really helps you relax."
Regarding Elixir Magic, Luke emphasizes practicality: "The idea of differentiated sides-top and bottom sides-that can be managed as needed is greatly appreciated. While elisir 5000 impresses with its softness and immediate comfort."
But the real strength is in the results: "We often recommend Dorsal products to clients with physical problems-arthritis, shoulder and hip pain, or difficulty sleeping. We have seen cases where a lady with insomnia has finally regained sleep thanks to Grand Soleil Greener. And clients with chronic pain who have improved the quality of their rest from the very first days."
Environment and exclusive collaborations
"One thing I really appreciate about Dorsal," Luca concludes, "is that they stayed true to their initial vision. They didn't get tempted by fads, but continued to focus on eco-sustainable materials, FSC-certified wood, ethical production. They were among the first in Italy to do that, and that is important to us."
The collaboration with theAIFI - Italian Physiotherapy Association is seen as adding value: "It is an added warranty for those who are looking for a product that is not only comfortable but also useful for their health."
